DTG & DTF Printing

DTG & DTF Printing

DTG (Direct to Garment) and DTF (Direct to Film) are two common printing technologies, each with different processes and suitable applications.

1. DTG (Direct to Garment) Printing

DTG stands for "Direct to Garment" printing, a technology that prints designs directly onto textiles. It works similarly to an inkjet printer, using special textile inks that are directly sprayed onto the garment. This method is usually suitable for natural fibers such as cotton and linen.

Advantages of DTG:

  • Detailed color representation: DTG can produce rich color gradients and high-resolution details, making it ideal for complex patterns and gradient designs.
  • Soft hand feel: Since the ink penetrates the fabric, the design becomes part of the garment, resulting in a soft and natural feel that is also breathable.
  • Eco-friendly inks: It uses water-based eco-friendly inks, which have a lower environmental impact.
  • Key feature: Fine color representation, ideal for gradient and photo-level designs.

2. DTF (Direct to Film) Printing

DTF stands for "Direct to Film" printing. In this process, the design is first printed onto a special film, and then transferred onto the garment using a heat press. DTF can be applied to various materials, including cotton, polyester, and blended fabrics.

Advantages of DTF:

  • Wide material compatibility: DTF is not only suitable for cotton fabrics but can also be applied to polyester, nylon, and various other materials, offering strong versatility.
  • Durability: The printed layer is thick and offers excellent wash resistance and abrasion resistance, making the design less likely to fade or crack.
